Brigitte:
Organizing is my second nature (could be the German in me). As
a toddler I organized my toys. In grade school I liked my desk
to be neat. During my high school years--which I spent in a boarding
school--I helped my school mates organize their closets, and when
I was at home visiting my parents, I organized the kitchen, bathroom,
and drawers. My subsequent years were spent doing secreterial
duties. Every office got a make-over and overhauled filing systems.
After immigrating to the US in 1972 I accidentally became a nursery
school teacher and my organizing skills were duly appreciated.
Following this I reorganized a doctor’s office while employed
administratively. By sheer luck I was hired on as a resource technician
at the Texas School for the Blind. Being responsible for a multitude
of teaching resources, moving all of them a few times, assisting
the librarian, creating materials, my organizing skills came in
very handy. Eventually, I became part of the school’s curriculum
development as a graphic designer. Here I developed a publishing “company” that
involved me in all aspects of production and sales. In my last
years for this school I organized and developed a database for
teacher reporting. After a short hiatus and helping out friends
getting moved into new houses or reorganizing their spaces it
was clear to me that this is my calling. I truly enjoy all my
clients and always strive to stay within their budget. Aside from
organizing I have created sanctuaries out of “misused” spaces,
redecorated whole houses, and customized to my clients’ satisfaction
using my many creative skills, as well as incorporating Feng Shui
principles.
I look forward to working with YOU!
David:
Handyman is my middle name! I take pride in my craft and consider
each job a small piece of art.
I have done handyman work since 1990 in Austin, prior to that in San Antonio
for two years, and five years in Galveston. I worked as a licensed marine
engineer and boat captain for oil exploration in the Gulf of Mexico, a ranch
hand in Chapel Hill, and
a licensed X-ray tech in Austin and Georgetown, but truly enjoy working along
side Brigitte as THE handyman.
When we cure spaces it is I who installs cabinets, shelves, appliances, and
electrical updates. I construct any additional spaces or yard structures
needed. I provide muscle when needed and handle the majority of landscaping
cures.
